Using BrickSeek

BrickSeek gets its inventory information directly from the retailer; we only report back what the retailer is reporting to us. Inventory information provided to you via our Inventory Checkers is live and real-time. We do not change or alter this information in any way.

Due to recent changes to Walmart's inventory system, some items will report a stock status of "Unknown." An "Unknown" stock status indicates that the item is carried by a particular store, but we are unable to verify whether it is still in stock at that store.

BrickSeek cannot be used to price match. We are a third-party application, and stores will not consider the inventory information you find here as a basis for price matching.

The inventory information provided via our Inventory Checkers is current and real-time as of the time the search is conducted.

Retailers price their items differently across platforms for many reasons.  An item might be 50% off in store but remain at full price online. You can use the Inventory Checkers on BrickSeek to determine an item’s current in-store price, which is oftentimes different than its online price.

Make sure that the UPC on the item in store exactly matches the UPC that is shown on BrickSeek. Oftentimes, a new model of an item can look identical to the previous (and marked down) version. If the UPC is off by even one digit, the inventory counts and pricing could be different than what you saw on BrickSeek.

For example, look at these two 32GB memory cards. The packaging on the front and back is nearly identical; however, their UPCs are different. One of these memory cards was $5 on clearance, and the other was still full price at over $18. One is the "older" model and the other is the "newer" model. This is very common, and this is why it's very important to always verify that the UPC of the item you have found is the same UPC as the one listed on BrickSeek.

If your local stores are sold out of a particular item, the only way to get it for the low price you see on BrickSeek is to expand your search and find a store that still has it in stock at the low price.  You can use the Inventory Checkers to search any zip code in the country to help find your product.

A UPC is the barcode found on all products, no matter where you buy them. The UPC code is the number printed below the barcode:

SKU stands for “Stock Keeping Unit” and is used by some retailers to manage their inventory systems. Walmart and CVS are best known for using SKUs to track their inventory.

DPCI stands for “Department – Class – Item” and is used by some retailers to manage their inventory systems. Target is best known for using DPCIs to track their inventory.

If you are not seeing one of your local stores in the Inventory Checker results page, it may be that the specific item you are searching is not carried at that store, in which case, the store would not be displayed in your search results.  Try searching for a very common item that is carried in almost every store, such as milk or shampoo, and see if your store appears in the results.  If your store is still not appearing in the search results, please email support@brickseek.com for assistance.
